  • Flash and Suzy (probably Raleigh)

  • Stella (Raleigh, NC)
Stella is a 6 month old gem! She was surrendered due to the college student who bought her no longer being able to care for her. She is a big, bouncing baby girl! She loves to play with people and is very, very gentle. She is just getting used to new ferrets but seems to like playing with everyone! She would be the perfect addition to any home.

  • Yoda (Wake Forest, NC)
Yoda is a one and 1/2? year old ferrett who has been left by his owner in a vacant rental. I have taken him in to help but do not wish to keep him. I don't know vaccine status but the pet shop said he is a marshal ferret that is nuetered. He is alone but from what I can tell a very sweet guy.He does cuddle with my daughter and sleeps in her arms, he is really a sweet animal and I wish him the best He does not bite or nip, plays well with the cat and dog. I can't seem to get him to eat any treats but eats his food well. The owner left him in his cage, it is three stories with a slide and hammock. Please feel free to take it with him. I have a huge bag of food and all supplies.

  • Four Ferrets (Oakboro, NC)
I'm fostering 4 ferrets for a small dog/cat rescue that is having to shut its doors. They were seized from a hoarder. They have either been handled roughly or not handled at all in their former lives. These furkids have been through a lot and deserve patient and understanding forever homes. I would keep them myself but I already have 4 ferrets of my own, 2 shelties, a guinea pig and a bunny. I'm at my limit.

Ralph - approx 2 year old white male with dark gray guard hairs. He can be rough with the smaller ferrets and has some nipping and trust issues that the foster mom is working on.
    Picture: Ralph

Whisper - approx 1 year old very petite albino female. She also has some nipping and trust issues that I'm working on as well. She is Willows best friend and I'd like to see these two go together.
    Picture: Whisper

Blinky - approx 2 year old blind white male. He does great once he learns the layout of a room (but has to relearn if you move furniture). He will come to the treat plate for his ferretone if I tap the plate so he can hear it. He used to freeze if I picked him up but he's becoming much more comfortable.
Echo - approx 2 year old albino male. He has been with Blinky for the past few months and I think they might be best together. He is very playful and dooks all over the ferret room.
    Picture: Blinky and Echo

It only took 3 days to litterbox train these ferrets (they were kept in pine shavings) and they are now very reliable with the litterbox. (Not a 100% but I don't know a single ferret who is 100% with the box) Since these ferrets have been through so much and are leaning to heal together, I'd prefer if they stay in pairs but if you are looking for a companion for a ferret you already have, we can talk about it. If you have room in your home and heart for a pair of these special ferrets please email foster mom Greta at gsalem@windstream.net Because of their nipping issues, I'd prefer homes without young children. Small adoption fee per pair. I will not ship.

  • Gizmo, Gargomel, and Falcor (North Raleigh, NC)
I would love to add a listing for my three boys who deserve a better quality of life. Gizmo is a 2.5-year-old sable male, very gentle and loving, not up to date on vaccines. Gargomel is a 2-year-old black sable male, destructive with most household items and not good for children, up to date on rabies only (received 3/08). Falcor is an albino male, age unknown, not up to date on vaccines, very hyper and difficult to hold still for nail trims but a sweet, sweet guy. Falcor has lost hair on his tail before, but currently it has grown back. I do not know his adrenal status. I can get rabies vaccines for Falcor and Gizmo if this helps. I will only give this loving trio to one home; I do not want them separated.

Be sure to examine the ferret, question the owner, and obtain veterinary information so that you know for certain the needs of the ferret when you adopt.
